ELEMENTS by Sarah Leigh

In August of 2023 we commissioned Sarah Leigh of Felti, to design an original piece of artwork for our long wall in the dining room above the banquette. Sarah specialises in creating hand made felt in her Bournville studio. She works on commission and this is the first piece she has done to such a scale reaching an installation length of 4.5 metres. The colours we have chosen with Sarah are green representing fields and a blue which is both sky and sea to reflect the importance we place on the British land and seas surrounding our island home. A feathered black felt runs through the piece. 

‘It has been my absolute pleasure to create a unique and tactile statement artwork for Chapter. After progressing a few designs it was this Elements piece that reflected Chapter’s focus on provenance of ingredients and connection to the land, presented in an abstract, undulating form'.
